【講座簡介】
2024年，紀錄片《夜曲》（Nocturnes）於日舞影展首映，並於「國際紀錄片競賽」中以其高超的製作技巧獲得評審團特別獎（Special Jury Award for Craft）。及後，《夜曲》在50多個電影節巡迴放映及得獎，並在美國超過15個城市獲得院線發行。《夜曲》以其極富巧思的攝影與聲音，探入東喜馬拉雅森林的夜色，追隨蛾群的神祕頻率，帶領觀眾捕捉不可見的訊息。
我們這次請到了《夜曲》的兩位導演Anupama與Anirban，來跟我們分享《夜曲》以及其他多部作品在聲音設計與錄音上的創作實踐。兩位在不同作品中均展現了他們對聲音、錄音與觀察的敏銳感知。他們是如何在黑暗中「聆聽」、在不確定與靜默之間，讓聲音成為探索世界的方式，捕捉日常與自然之間的隱匿訊號？且聽他們來分享
這次分享會分為兩個部分：
一是以上講座的部分。
二是觀影的部分：只要購買本分享會的「現場票」，則會自動包含台灣國際民族誌影展TIEFF 電影票 1張。可選場次包括《小朋友你今天上學嗎？》、《電力要來不來的日子》或《奔走的老信使》。

印緬邊界的那加族，為了追求獨立自治，長期與印度政府軍爭鬥談判。地處邊陲、基礎建設不足的小村莊，在印度獨立70多年後，終於傳來此地即將供電的好消息。居民們對此半信半疑，各有盼望，渴望有電照亮夜晚，想要追求更好的生活，但村裡那位打過獨立戰爭、吃過苦的老人，卻有著不一樣的想法⋯⋯。本片從當地爭取基本供電便利投入的努力，深入淺出帶出在此生活的複雜面向，與其間共處的不確定性。

在印度弱勢地區，人們大多同意孩子應該上學，現實卻是學生經常缺席。聚焦拉賈斯坦邦南部鄧加普爾的公立學校，導演走進家庭和教室，孩子純真談論夢想、大人講述現實難處，從中看見教育體系的脆弱。受制環境及資源，即使家長努力養家、教師辛勤付出，求學之路也隨時可能中斷。對於村裡的孩子而言，受教育意味著什麼？對於一位女孩而言，不上學又意味著什麼？鄉村猶有讀書聲，只是教師仍須日復一日追問：「小朋友，你今天要上學嗎？」

數百年來，印度傳統的郵遞員奔跑或步行，以肉身穿越險阻送信，英勇事蹟甚至傳為佳話；然而，時代快速變遷，這項職業幾乎已成過去式。身為少數僅存的郵遞員，西孟加拉邦普如里亞的卡利帕達為鎮上服務多年，如今再難負荷長途跋涉，只得迎來象徵性的「最後一趟」。影片以浪漫的懷舊凝視凋零，結合皮影戲和戲劇重演，神話、民俗、音樂與現實交織，創造出詩意的平行時空——那裡，慢步調生活有其意義，郵遞員肩負書信重量，自遠古以來一直在路上。

In Nocturnes, filmmakers Anupama Srinivasan and Anirban Dutta venture into the Eastern Himalayan forests under the cover of night. Following the mysterious frequencies of moths, they uncover messages carried in the unseen.
This talk will share the film’s approach to sound design and recording—how to “listen” in the dark, how to dwell in silence and uncertainty, and how sound becomes a way of perceiving the world anew.
Yet their practice extends far beyond the nocturnal. In Are You Going to School Today? (2020), Flickering Lights (2023), and The Last Run (2020), they already explore how sound and recording can open new ways of perceiving both the everyday and the extraordinary.
This talk will draw on these films to reflect on how listening shapes our encounter with the world—how silence, uncertainty, and sonic sensitivity can reveal hidden dimensions of human and non-human life.
